Learn How The 1 Percent Solution Will Positively Slow Down Your Aging!

I want to introduce you to a concept that is rooted in biology. A concept that is so powerful that it will impact the way you look at what you eat and drink forever. It will become a foundational point of reference for helping you to slow down the aging process. So, what is this foundational point of reference? It is this:

The 1% Solution!

Pretty dramatic isn’t it! What? You think it’s pretty lame. You’re thinking how can 1% of anything have any real effect on your health and longevity? Well, before I show you how powerful that point of reference will be to your overall health and wellness. Let me ask you two questions:

Would you want a stock option that increased in value by 1%? Maybe

What if it increased in value by 1% each day you owned it? Absolutely!

I thought so. Who wouldn’t want something that improved in value everyday you owned it. Well, let’s apply this thinking to your body. What would happen to your health if you could improve 1% of your body today? And, another 1% tomorrow! What if you could to this everyday for the next 90 days? Would that make a difference in your overall health and wellness? Absolutely!

Dr. Henry S. Lodge & A New Body Every 3 Months!

I’d like to introduce you to Dr. Henry S. Lodge, faculty member of Columbia Medical School and co-author of “Younger Next Year!” The March 18, 2007 issue of Parade Magazine had a great article on aging by Dr. Lodge. Quoting from this article:

“Your body is made up of trillions of cells that live mostly for a few weeks or months, die and are replaced by new cells in an endless cycle. For example, your taste buds live only a few hours, white blood cells live 10 days, and your muscle cells live about three months. Even your bones dissolve and are replaced, over and over again. A few key stem cells in each organ and your brain cells are the only ones that stick around for the duration. All of your other cells are in a constant state of renewal.

You replace about 1% of your cells every day. That means 1% of your body is brand-new today, and you will get another 1% tomorrow. Think of it as getting a whole new body every three months. It’s not entirely accurate, but it’s pretty close.”

Wow! 1% of your body is new today, another 1% tomorrow, and the next day and so on. Overall you have a new body every three months. So, the question is will that body be decaying or growing? Will the 1% of your new body today get the kind of nourishment it needs to be healthy?

You Have Control Over The Process!

You choose whether those new cells will be nourished properly or poorly. You choose whether you will have healthy and vibrant cells that act young. Or, sickly and sedentary cells that act old.

You can no longer put the care of your body in the hands of others. The government, fast food industry, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and health care professionals are not going to be your pathway to better health and slowing down your aging process. That’s not to say that they don’t play a role in your overall health. But, you need to come to the realization that you and your choices are the keys to success in properly nourishing your body. Let me give you an example.

Jon’s Story Could Be Your Story!

Let’s look at Jon who at age 55 weighed 255 pounds, had knees that hurt, a back that ached, had high blood pressure and had developed diabetes. One day Jon woke up. He had a choice. He could live a life dependent on prescription medication and resign himself to old age and inactivity. Or, he could begin the process of taking charge of his life by making healthy choices in what he ate and the activities that he engaged in.

Thankfully, Jon chose to make healthy choices. It was slow at first but Jon stuck with it. He started eating better and exercising appropriately. And the result was he lost 50 pounds, the knee and back pain disappeared and his diabetes is no longer a factor. Jon is now age 60 but his body has a biological age in the upper 30s.


If today you’re feeling like Jon did at age 55, it is my hope and desire to help you feel like Jon does today at age 60. I can’t stop the march of time. We all know where it eventually leads to. But I can help to equip you with useful information and practical applications that will empower you live the rest of your time with a better sense of well being and improved vitality. Was he consistent every day? No. But that’s the beauty of “The 1% Solution!” If I stumble one day on my journey for improved health, I’ve only affected 1% of my new cells. If I choose to indulge for a special occasion or to reward myself for a consistent effort, then I only affect 1% of my new cells. If I have 6 good days of making good choices that will nourish my new cells properly but have 1 bad day, then my net gain is 5% of my new body is on its way to better health.

What About Brain, Nervous and Stem Cells?

Although these important cells aren’t replaced by your body, they do have cellular traffic. So, the good choices you make to nourish your new cells will also have a positive effect on those cells that are with you for your lifetime. It’s a true win-win situation. In fact, here is just one of many articles that I could provide you with that demonstrate the effectiveness of good food choices.

CHICAGO – New research on vegetables and aging gives mothers another reason to say “I told you so.” It found that eating vegetables appears to help keep the brain young and may slow the mental decline sometimes associated with growing old.

On measures of mental sharpness, older people who ate more than two servings of vegetables daily appeared about five years younger at the end of the six-year study than those who ate few or no vegetables.

You can find the full details of this study in the October issue of Neurology. It is even more impressive when you understand who the subjects were for this study. It involved 1,946 Chicago-area men and women aged 65 and older. Chicago is the land of deep dish pizza and all beef hot dogs. So, it was most likely a big challenge to get them to eat their vegetables. But those who did felt the benefits of good nutrition in the cellular traffic of their brain cells!

Well, now that you have been introduced to “The 1% Solution!” it’s time to begin to think about the food and beverages you eat and drink. Will your consumption choices nourish your new cells as well as provide good nutrition to your cellular traffic? Or, will your consumption choices cause you to age faster?
